Our story
Welcome To Macabi Skirt
It all started with a bone fishing trip to the Yucatan. Carol knew a skirt would be ideal for the climate, and more respectful of the local culture. But it would have to handle the heat and the sun. It couldn't get tangled in her line. It would have to dry quickly after wading. After all that, it would have to stand up to cocktails and dinner. She was disappointed. No such skirt existed.

I bought my first Macabi skirt (in a light green) a few years ago and love wearing it around town, especially in warmer weather as it's extremely comfortable. Last week I was packing for my upcoming Camino and tried on both my skirt and a pair of convertible hiking trousers. Not even close - the skirt is so much more comfortable. Also, I checked www.JourneyWoman.com for appropriate attire for Spain. Shorts are frowned upon and mark you as a tourist - so the convertible option on the trousers was pointless. It's the perfect item for my trek! Thanks, Macabi!

CustomerI went on a Trek in Nepal this fall and loved my Macabi skirts! It was my first experience hiking in a skirt and I loved the comfort and freedom it gave me on the trail. The material was so comfortable and worked from the warmth of the jungle to over 12,000 feet with tights. Many hikers commented that I was the first trekker they had seen in a skirt and how practical it was. I had not only women but several men ask where I got the skirt because they wanted to tell their wives and friends. The inside zipper pocket was perfect to keep my passport and money and overall the pockets were roomy and convenient to store gloves, lip balm and sunscreen for easy access.Thank you Macabi! Cindy

Hailey, IdahoLove these skirts. I've got long and knee length. At home in the US, I get compliments. My daughter is serving as a medical missionary abroad (Papua New Guinea) and hers are great. As I write, I am in rainy Istanbul, Turkey. The fabric sheds the rain. I have deep pockets for all my stuff. And when we visited mosques, my guide told me I was dressed perfectly. So comfortable for all kinds of travel and social situations. Love

Murfreesboro, TennesseeI recently placed an order for my 4th & 5th Macabi skirts. Obviously, I love these garments! I get lots of day to day wear from them and find them invaluable when traveling. They’ve been on several continents with me. When the new skirts went missing during shipping, Mike worked hard to help me try to track them down. And when we couldn’t find any sign of them, Mike sent me replacements for the lost skirts, ensuring they arrived this time. Now, not only do I love my skirts and frequently recommend them, but I can also recommend Macabi for their outstanding customer service.
